Something to Count on - Updated Summer Plans

Tired of cancellations, restrictions and wondering what recovery phase we’ll be in next week? So are we; so, we decided to do something about it. Rather than wait and hope our county will return to Phase 3 in time to operate our normal camp schedule, we want to give your kids something to count on. We are excited to announce our updated summer plans for 2021.

We begin with three weeks of day camp! No matter what recovery phase we are in, these camps can happen since they are considered essential services. Day Camp is a new and exciting way to experience Sunset Lake. Each day is packed full of fun, adventure and learning. With five different camps to choose from each week and programming designed for campers ages 5-14, there is something for everyone.  If you live near camp and are looking for daycare options or an outdoor, in-person adventure for your kids; this is the place to be. Go to our day camp page to look over all the options and to register your child. State guidelines limit our capacity, so be sure reserve your child’s spot now. We are working on bussing options from several local communities. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.

For everyone else, our normal summer camp programming isn’t canceled, but will be shifted slightly later in the summer to allow the latest COVID wave to subside. We are planning 4 weeks of regular, overnight camps starting July 18 and continuing through August 14 for ages 8-17. For this year only our final week of camp will be open to any camper who would have aged out of camp in 2020. We don’t want anyone to miss out on that last summer camp experience. While there will be some changes to schedules, classes, and programming because of COVID restrictions, all the fun and adventure of our regular camp experience will be back. Since we are compressing 7 weeks of camp into 4, demand will be very high and classes will fill quickly. Be sure to register as soon as possible.

Finally, a reminder that our camp scholarship program will be active once again this summer. It has been a long, hard year and we don’t want anyone to miss out on a week of camp because money is tight. If you are struggling to afford a week of camp for your child, please fill out the request form for our scholarship fund when you register and let us help you make camp a reality for your child.
